One of the region’s smaller tourist resorts, the village of Torba has retained its relaxed and somewhat rural feel.
Torba is situated on the northern shore of the Bodrum Peninsula, on the opposite side to the town of Bodrum, along Turkey’s beautiful Aegean Coast. By road the distance between this attractive village and the peninsula’s main town is only 4 miles or less, yet the coastline on this side of the peninsula is quite different to the more barren coastal scenery of the southern side and features some wonderful little coves and lush pine clad mountains.
There’s a rural feel in Torba, but it’s not in the middle of nowhere – the transfer time from the Milas Bodrum Airport is less than 45 minutes (driving direct), and the distance by road is just 20 miles.
Torba has also built a reputation as a higher-end resort village and although it does have smaller hotels, a large number of them are 3, 4 and 5 star rated with lots of amenities and facilities giving the upper class vibe to the resort area. Hotels such as Club Voyage Torba, Isil Club Bodrum, Club Izer Beach, and Casa Dell’Arte are top of the listings in terms of guest reviews.
Torba is a perfect choice for anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing destination that’s not too noisy, yet within easy reach of all the shopping, nightlife and more that’s available in nearby Bodrum. Whilst in Torba you might like to take a boat trip as the marina in Torba is the terminus for ferry services from the Bodrum Peninsula to Didyma. Didyma is an ancient site and a great place to go for a day trip, plus you can also make use of the ferry to visit two other ancient sites, Priene and Miletus.
Torba is perfect for those who want a quieter time but the village still has everything you’ll need in terms of shopping, dining and nightlife. There are some excellent restaurants with the most popular ones having fantastic coastal views.
